Do I absolutely have to fast before I take my cholesterol test?

Experts have concluded that people can have a cholesterol test without fasting.  Although triglycerides level increases after each meal, the levels are insignificant, which mean cholesterol test would still give an accurate result. Experts have come up with the conclusion that if you are not on statin medication, you do not have to fast before going for a cholesterol test. In the past, you have to go for long hours without eating, and this was a major stumbling block. People that suffer from ulcers, diabetes, or active people tend to skip cholesterol tests as a result of fasting.
