Missing a dose isn't going to hurt you, as long as you don't make a habit out of it. Just carry on as normal, and take your normal dosage the next day.
Do not try and make up for missing a dose by doubling up. It's not recommended that you do this, even though taking a double dose once or twice isn't going to hurt you.
If you consistently forget, either set and alarm, or tie it into your daily routine, making taking your dose a part of some other daily task, for example your evening bathroom routine.
Statins are an effective and powerful drug, but they're not a wonder solution. Paired with a healthy lifestyle, statins can make a huge difference in your cholesterol levels, but it's important to realise the downsides and limitations.
Like all medication, ask your doctor to give you the smallest dose you can whilst still being effective. Remember that taking higher doses of your statin isn't going to have that much more of an effect, and it could increase your chance of possible downsides.
